CrossRoads game night is this Friday at the Calhoun’s… Come on out and join us for a very fun time of games and snacks. We’ll be playing Catchphrase, SceneIt, Loaded Questions, Apples-to-Apples, and other favorites…
This past Friday a team went to Fort Lee to serve at the “At Ease” Coffeehouse. We got to watch True Liberty entertain and minister to the soldiers. The soldiers really respond to the music and the message of this band, it is neat to experience. If you’ve never gone out to Fort Lee, it is incredible. About 115 soldiers came through the doors of the coffeehouse during the evening. Consider going out with us sometime, you will definitely want to go back.
Also, Girls and Guys small groups will be starting up next Tuesday, the 29th. At the Open House last week, the Girls’ small groups shared that they will be going through a study through the book of Philippians called “Experiencing God’s Peace.” The Guys’ groups will be going through a study called “Left of Matthew: Exploring the Great Ideas of the Old Testament.”
Finally, we’ve planned a skiing/tubing day-trip up to Wintergreen Resort on Saturday, February 23rd! Put it on your calendar, more details to come…

We’ll be holding an Open House Interest Meeting for our Young Adult Small Groups this Tuesday night. If you’re interested in joining a small group, this is a great time to learn about the bible studies our small groups will be going through on Tuesday nights beginning January 29th. Our Small Groups meet at Ironbridge Church from 7-9pm. We split the small groups between girls and guys.
Last Friday’s CrossRoads was really cool. We met at the Calhoun’s and shared the blessings God had given each of us in 2007. It was neat listening to some really awesome things God has been up to in the lives of those around us… Read the rest of this entry »

Hey Everybody!
We are rolling out a new website for 2008! We’ll be posting a lot of announcements, pictures, and other interesting items pertaining to young adult ministry here. My resolution for the new year is to keep this site fresh and get a lot of people visiting it. If you want to let me know you checked out our site (and what you think), leave a comment below!
Our events calendar (to the left) has just been updated with a bunch of new dates…the first CrossRoads in 2008 will be on January 11th, at the Calhoun’s. We’ll be holding an “open house” for Small Groups on the 15th at Ironbridge, where we will discuss which studies the guys and girls groups will be going through. Small groups (with childcare) will be starting back up on Tuesday the 29th at Ironbridge.
Look for pictures from our Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years celebrations here soon!

About three-fourths of young people quit church. “Tell me something I don’t know,” you say.
Well, Lifeway Research (Southern Baptist) says they know the reasons why 70 percent of 18-year-olds who attended church regularly in high school quit by age 23: they don’t like it. And by age 30, 34 percent still have not rebounded. That means one in four young Protestants has left the church.
On their laundry list of reasons: they wanted a break (27%), church is too judgmental (26%), they moved away to college (25%), busy with work (23%). Read the rest of this entry »
