Summer Happenings
Brett and Matt have invited everyone over to their new place this Friday night for a cookout/bonfire! It’s in Sandston, about 20 minutes from Chester, right off I-295. If you would like to carpool/caravan over, meet at the Calhoun house at 6:30 and we’ll head on over. For directions, email crossroads616@gmail.com. We’re also sending a team to Fort Lee this Friday evening. If you’re interested in helping out, email us.
The leadership team met last night to plan out events for the summer, and we are excited about the opportunities for fellowship and growth in the months ahead! We are planning an informal summer small group session that will meet every two weeks starting in June. Aaron and Bonnie are planning to lead a Couples Small Group during the summer. Right now they are trying to gauge interest–if you want to be a part of this, please let us know you’re interested. Guys and Girls small groups will also be forming during the summer–more on that later.
We’ve also planned some fun activities for the Summer–we are wanting to offer opportunities for young adults to connect with each other as well as with their families. Therefore, some of the activities will be for the whole family, while others will be opportunities geared solely toward the young adults and connecting with each other! In June we will be having a Pool and Grill Party and Canoeing at Pocahontas State Park. In July, we’ll be going to watch the very patriotic Fourth of July Celebration at Fort Lee as well as doing an Open Mic Night at Chester Bistro. In August, we are planning a Day Trip to Virginia Beach. Look for more details on these events to come. We are hoping to offset some costs associated with these activities by using our ministry budget.
Let the leadership team know what you think of the activities we have planned for the summer: drop a comment here or write to crossroads616@gmail.com . We are always trying to improve this ministry in making it a fun, friendly, and safe place to reach, lead, and strengthen young adults in becoming authentic followers of Christ.
Have a great week,
Mike
