We are taking advantage of this wonderful Virginia Spring weather, so this Friday (April 18) we will be having a “Taco Bar” — we will provide taco shells, meat, cheese, and other toppings, and YOU bring yourself and a friend! We’ll also have a fire outside in the pit as well as some outdoor games. Come out, eat tacos, mingle, and have fun!
A team will also be going to volunteer at the Fort Lee Coffeehouse this Friday. We go on the third Friday of each month. Depending on how the months fall, sometimes Fort Lee and CrossRoads are on the same nights. I believe in June things will get back to normal.
Small Groups are wrapping up for the Spring. Some small groups will be forming in the summer along with some other fun activities. Stay tuned…

THIS Tuesday (March 18) is a Fun Night and we will not be going through the bible study chapters. It is still very important that you come to the Fun Nights because this is a time for us to grow closer together especially with guys that are not in your small group. This is also a great opportunity to invite guys that don’t normally come to small group and we want to get plugged in.
Details: We are going to be combining with the girls small groups for a Bowling Night!! (KIDS WELCOME!!!!!) We are going to be meeting at Holiday Bowl in Chester at 6:30. Even if you don’t want to bowl you should come and hang out! You can laugh at the rest of us attempting to bowl!
This friday, March 21 (Good Friday), Crossroads will meet @ the Calhoun house from 7-9 pm. We will be having an easter egg competition and other fun activities! CHILDREN WELCOME!
A team of us will also be heading down to volunteer at the Fort Lee Coffeehouse on Friday, from 6-9pm. Aaron W’s band, TRUE LIBERTY, will be performing for the soldiers!

There hasn’t been much interest in the ski trip this weekend, so with that as well as other factors (there are no tubing tickets left!), we are canceling the ski trip planned for this Saturday the 23rd. Therefore, we will have CrossRoads this Friday night, the 22nd.
Guys and Girls small groups are having a FUN NIGHT this week. Please check with your small group leader as to where and when to meet.
CrossRoads will happen this Friday night, Feb 22, at the Wells’ home, in Chester, from 7-9 pm. We will have a Nacho Bar — bring your favorite topping you would like to put on your nacho chips. We’ll provide the chips and some basic toppings (like cheese). We’ll also have ping-pong, Nintendo Wii, foozball, and other games going on. Email us - crossroads616@gmail.com - for directions.
We sent a team of four down to the Fort Lee Coffeehouse this past Friday. Nine soldiers accepted Christ, and many prayer requests were raised! We go to Fort Lee on the third Friday of each month — next time is March 21st. Consider going with us sometime!

This Friday, CrossRoads is going to the Sandston Blend, a coffeehouse for 20-30 somethings at the Sandston Recreation Center in eastern Henrico (near the Richmond Airport). It is an event put on by three churches in the area as an outreach to Young Adults (very similar to CrossRoads). It will not only be a chance to meet new people, it may also be a ministry opportunity, AND it is going to be a very fun evening as two Christian bands with ties to CrossRoads will be performing music: Aaron W’s band, True Liberty, will take the stage at 9pm. Opening for them at 8pm will be David W. and I performing under the name Heartsong. Please pray that the audience there will be receptive to our message (i.e. that we sound OK) while we glorify God with our songs.
We will meet at the Calhoun house around 7:15 and ride together over to Sandston for the show which goes from 8-11 pm. It is about a 30-minute drive. See you there!
Small Groups have started up and are going well. It is not too late to come out and join us if you are interested. Just come out to a Tuesday night small group (we meet at Ironbridge Church from 7-9 pm) and you will be connected.
Have a great week!

CrossRoads game night is this Friday at the Calhoun’s… Come on out and join us for a very fun time of games and snacks. We’ll be playing Catchphrase, SceneIt, Loaded Questions, Apples-to-Apples, and other favorites…
This past Friday a team went to Fort Lee to serve at the “At Ease” Coffeehouse. We got to watch True Liberty entertain and minister to the soldiers. The soldiers really respond to the music and the message of this band, it is neat to experience. If you’ve never gone out to Fort Lee, it is incredible. About 115 soldiers came through the doors of the coffeehouse during the evening. Consider going out with us sometime, you will definitely want to go back.
Also, Girls and Guys small groups will be starting up next Tuesday, the 29th. At the Open House last week, the Girls’ small groups shared that they will be going through a study through the book of Philippians called “Experiencing God’s Peace.” The Guys’ groups will be going through a study called “Left of Matthew: Exploring the Great Ideas of the Old Testament.”
Finally, we’ve planned a skiing/tubing day-trip up to Wintergreen Resort on Saturday, February 23rd! Put it on your calendar, more details to come…

We’ll be holding an Open House Interest Meeting for our Young Adult Small Groups this Tuesday night. If you’re interested in joining a small group, this is a great time to learn about the bible studies our small groups will be going through on Tuesday nights beginning January 29th. Our Small Groups meet at Ironbridge Church from 7-9pm. We split the small groups between girls and guys.
Last Friday’s CrossRoads was really cool. We met at the Calhoun’s and shared the blessings God had given each of us in 2007. It was neat listening to some really awesome things God has been up to in the lives of those around us… Read the rest of this entry »
